Should I get a Free Zone or
Mainland LLC?
UAE Free Zone companies are faster and easier to setup. They are ideal for remotely run businesses, and companies that want to operate from a specific free zone.

Free Zone companies have fewer reporting requirements, are not subject to mandatory requirements to hire Emiratis (called Emiratization), and some free zones allow customs-free import and export.

However, free zone companies are only allowed to open an office, warehouse or retail space outside the free zone with a special permit, that has to be renewed annually (around AED5,000/y).

Mainland companies are more suitable for businesses with mostly UAE-based customers, and riskier business activities such as finance, accounting, crypto and real estate, as banks generally prefer mainland businesses.

How Much Time Do I Need to Spend in Dubai?
The type of UAE residence visa you have determines how much time you need to spend in the UAE:

UAE Golden Visa
- There is no min stay requirement for UAE Golden Visa holders

Company Shareholder/Investor Visa
- You will need to enter the UAE at least once every 365 days if you are on a UAE shareholder or investor visa

Employee Visa
